Soldier Shoots Self Dead in North Kashmir

Srinagar- A soldier on Friday committed suicide by shooting himself dead inside an army camp in North Kashmir’s Handwara town.

Lance Naik Shiv Kumar shot himself dead in his head using his service rifle inside the army’s 21 RR camp in Bagatora area of Handwara, reports said. Kumar’s colleagues rushed to the spot after hearing the gunshots.

The sentry, reports said, was found in a pool of blood with a head injury. He was taken to Sub District Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Meanwhile, Police have initiated proceedings under section 174 Cr.PC in this regard.
