Order reads that, Kindly refer to the above cited subject Right to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Act, 2019 recommends regular examination in Classes 5th and 8th at the end of every academic year & National Education Policy 2020 envisages ” all students will take school examination in grade 3,5 & 8 which will be conducted by appropriate authority” In this context, the teachers/students require proper planning and thorough understanding of the mechanism of the assessment.

Accordingly, sCERT has prepared a draft Student Assessment and scheme(SA&ES)” which shall be implemented from next academic evaluation session (2023-24).

However it has been decided that Year End Assessment of Class 8th for current academic session (2022-23) shall be conducted by SCERT as per past practice & guidelines in terms of Government order No. 338 Edu of 2016 dated 16.09.2016.

Accordingly, I am directed to request you to initiate the process for conducting Term End Assessment of class 8th for session 2022-23 as per the practice in vogue with timelines sync with Uniform Academic Calendar notified by the Government vide Govt. Order No. 2085-JK(Edu) of 2022 Dated: 07.10.2022.
