Petrol & Diesel Rates: Lowest Since January 2022, Check New Rates in Your City Here

Fuel prices on November 29: Oil prices have dropped to a 10-month low, escalating hopes of a possible reduction in fuel prices. Benchmark Brent crude fell to its lowest since January on Monday, with prices dropping $2.6/barrel, over 3 per cent, to $80.97. The current petrol and diesel prices in India reflect oil at about $85/barrel.

State-run oil marketing companies announce fuel price revision, if any, at 6 am daily, however, they announced no change in the retail prices of petrol and diesel on Tuesday, November 29.

Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had earlier this month said that OMCs are still making a loss of net Rs 4 per litre on diesel while their margins have turned positive on petrol. The petrol, diesel price freeze since May has lead to a second consecutive quarterly loss for OMCs totalling Rs 2,748.66 crore in July-September.

The Center reduced the excise duty on gasoline by Rs 8 per litre and on diesel by Rs 6 per litre in May of this year, which resulted in the last big decrease in fuel prices. In India, the price of gasoline and diesel is updated every midnight based on the global situation. Delhi’s current per-liter prices are Rs 96.72 for gasoline and Rs 89.62 for diesel.
