Fast bowling has always been a huge concern for the Indian cricket team. Unlike other countries, the Indian pacers don’t have enough speed to trouble the batters.

The majority of them clock in the region of early 130s kmph. Only a select few can be categorised as tearaway fast bowlers, who can deliver in excess of mid 140s kmph day in and day out.

Recently, a video of J&K all-rounder Auqib Nabi went viral on social media, where he could be seen swinging and tonking the ball.

Now, the same journalist Mohsin Kamal, who had shared that video, has posted another video on his Twitter handle which showed a fast bowler terrorising batters with his raw speed and bounce in domestic cricket.

According to the journo, his name is Waseem Bashir and he hails from Pahalgam village in Kashmir and is 22 years old. In the video, one could see Bashir scaring off the batters with his well-directed bouncers.

Despite bowling with a relatively short run-up, the youngster can generate a good amount of pace. The journalist claims that the speedster clocks over 145 kmph on a regular basis and it even touches 150-plus but he was not sure.

Given India desperately needs fast bowlers like this, the fans went mad as they saw the video on the micro-blogging site. Given the rarity of a talent like him, people urged their respective IPL franchises to make him a part of their squad and groom him for the future.

Here are some of the comments:

According to an article published on Odisha TV, he is already on the radar of IPL teams. He was even called up for trials by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) but things didn’t work out.

From seam and swing to line and lengths, these things can be taught but the raw pace is something which is natural. Bashir is a gifted fast bowler, it’s up to the cricket authorities to ensure that he gets the proper training and guidance required to become a complete bowler.
